On Friday December 14, 2018 George Toriello sent me, Bob Meli, this researched material on George Debaun who was truly a local guy having been born in New Milford then living on Maple Avenue in Hackensack according to 1930-1940 census and finally being buried in
Hackensack Cemetery.

Just to make note for clarification George Debaun who is in The Record newspaper photo of Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R. Members in photo), June 9, 1950 on our website. The caption states “no one knows the date of the photo”, but what we do know is it had to be before 1928 since that is when George Debaun died: continuing George Toriello’s researched information on this Hackensack Veteran of the Civil War:
